I recently went in for a medical procedure-it was not a big deal; it really wasn’t until the nurse gently lifted my hand to attach an arm band with big yellow letters that spelled “FALL RISK”. I broke out into an unreserved laugh and said, “Are you kidding me?”

A Whittled Wooden Safety Pin
Some of the best advice I ever received as a young wife and mother was gleaned in a wooden swing under two big shade trees on Highway 70. Daddy and I would sit and visit for hours while watching his grandkids tirelessly pedal back and forth on the driveway in front of the homeplace.

The most important social relationship I have in my life is the relationship I have with my husband, Bill. We have been married for thirty-one years, and while we have a wonderful marriage, it has not been free of problems. When our oldest was born, we prayed fervently for God’s direction and felt that He was leading me to become a full-time mother. I confidently submitted my resignation to the county board of education, and my new journey began. Life was good.
